Our client approached us to create a design-driven renovation to an otherwise understated, saltbox home.  The existing house, located minutes away from Newport’s beaches, was lacking a proper identifiable front entry, the interior living spaces were cramped, and it was without enjoyable, covered outdoor space.

This modest coastal home was renovated to include a new kitchen, a refreshed entrance and living space, and a new wrap around covered porch. The gesture of a simplified shed roof inspired the covered porch and created a covered outdoor space perfect for a summer home along the coast.

While working with the limited available area and the majority of the cabinetry being in place at the time of our involvement, we designed a unique kitchen island with space for seating and ample counter space. The selected finishes throughout the kitchen are rich with color and style, and inspire a contemporary coastal vibe.
